Shared Space 2.0

To Do List - release 6 (11th March 2004)

Shared Space 2.0 is currently in beta. As such, it may contain bugs, and should not be used with important information you haven't previously backed up.

The point of open alphas and betas for Shared Space 2.0 is to solicit feeback on what you like and/or don't like, as well as to find and fix bugs that crop up.

Shared Space 2.0 beta 3 is the third beta release of the application. I've dubbed it 'beta' because it's a lot more stable than previous releases, and because most of the features included in the beta actually work. However, this does not mean that later betas will not include features not found in this version, as is often the case with beta software.

Before Shared Space 2.0 reaches a final release, there are a number of features I want to incorporate. A list of some of the more important ones is below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a PROVISIONAL list. Just because something is in this list, it does not mean it will definately appear over the course of the next few releases, if it is included at all.

Proposed list of features for final release

  • Reworked document instances - I'm unhappy with the image preview / icon being in the same box as the description. This will most likely change back to be more similar to the old behaviour.
  • Spell checking application wide
  • Bookmarks
  • The ability to open spaces and views from the Internet
  • Integrated security model
